Social Car Scheme
What is a Social Car Scheme?
A Social Car Scheme is an organised form of lift giving through a scheme co-ordinator, where volunteer drivers give their time and use their own cars to provide door to door journeys. It is a demand responsive service aimed at those members of the community who, due to mobility difficulties, are unable to use other forms of public transport.
Bonus & Excess Protection
The policy is issued to the Social Car Scheme and will provide cover to reimburse registered volunteers, who are using their own vehicles in connection with the car scheme, should they be involved in an accident whilst driving for the scheme. They can make a claim under this policy to recover their excess and no claims discount, regardless as to whether the claim is their fault or not.
